Wings Marks 10th Anniversary

On September 30, 2010, Wings celebrated its 10th Anniversary. It's hard to believe that Toni's vision has reached its tenth year and that Wings has turned into a major ALS research funding event and a destination event for the Wall Street Community. We were again at Gotham Hall in New York City and our host was Natale Morales from NBC's Today Show. Co-chairing Wings 2010 were Michael Marrale from RBC Capital Markets and Angela Sun from Bloomberg. Award recipients were the late Tony Judt (Spirit Award), Ray Tierney (the Beier Award), and Dr. Nicholas Maragakis (the Diamond Award).

As we look back, Wings has now provided over $9 million for ALS research. Thanks to the passionate and dedicated committee members (including committee Chairpersons and Co-chairs), MDA staff, and incredibly generous sponsors/donors, Wings has made a significant difference in ALS research and awareness over this last decade.

As we look forward, our immediate objective is to break $10 million in 2011. The road to $10 million once again starts with all of you. Wings provides hope to all those affected by this devastating disease, and your support helps fuel that hope.

On we go, together, toward Wings 2011.  Hopefully, the year of the cure!

Wings Mourns the Loss of Tony Judt

The Wings family mourns the loss of Tony Judt and sends condolences to the Judt family and friends. Mr. Judt faced ALS with the same intellectual vigor and honesty he approached everything else in his life. We will plan to honor his memory at our upcoming event, and continue to work so that we can soon discover answers and ultimately a cure.

Here is the article about Mr. Judt that was featured in the New York Times yesterday.

2010 Bar Night: A Successful Kickoff for Wings

Bar Night 2010 was a blast! With guest bartenders serving up the drinks, The Public House was filled with enthusiastic and generous patrons. Everyone gathered for a great cause, had fun, mingled, networked, browsed a mini silent auction, bought raffle tickets for a trip to Australia, and raised awareness and funds for ALS research. Many of the Wings committee members got behind the bar and encouraged their friends, family, and colleagues to relax and enjoy a wonderful night out. Thanks to the members of STANY for staying after your meeting to join us, and to our tired but triumphant Wings Triathlon Team. If you missed it, there's always Bar Night 2011! See you there!
